Help Alexander Devine#RockTheBlue – 18th May
Children’s Hospice Week is a dedicated awareness and fundraising week for children’s hospices across the UK. 👍 This year Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service has decided to mark the occasion with a special campaign #RockTheBlue. They are challenging you to use the colour blue and take on your most creative, exciting blue themed challenge between 21st and 27th June to help raise both awareness and funds for children’s hospice service. 💙

Why blue?
Blue was 8 year old Alexander Devine’s favourite colour and along with his favourite animal, the dolphin, it forms part of the logo; a reminder of how this very special boy inspired the charity and without whom Alexander Devine would not be here today providing specialist care and support to so many children and families.
So in Alexander’s honour we’re encouraging everyone to join the fun and #RockTheBlue with your most imaginative blue-themed challenge! For mode details click here.

Investment at Theale station brings improved facilities – Wednesday 6th May

A multi-million-pound upgrade to Theale Railway station is due to begin this summer, seeing improved accessibility and facilities. As part of the upgrade, plans are set to include:
  • Improved accessibility across the station, with a footbridge and lifts to connect platforms on both sides of the tracks.
  • Step-free access to the new station building and both platforms which will allow the station to be fully accessible to all rail users for the first time.
  • Replacing the existing ticket office with the building located closer to the new footbridge and designed to meet modern accessibility standards in full.
  • Upgraded and opening of new toilets.
  • Expansion of the existing car park to include a new entrance, improved drop-off and turning facility from Brunel Road for taxis and rail replacement buses, electric vehicle charging points, improved facilities for cyclists, motorcycle parking, plus provision of anew car park deck which will increase parking capacity by more than 33% to 300 spaces.
  • Overhauling the road and pavement for better accessibility to the station along Station Road and Brunel Road, including wayfinding signage and replacement of width restriction bollards.

The project is expected to be completed by summer 2022. Improvements to the cycle and pedestrian routes to the station will also be implemented as part of the wider scheme. You can find out more here.

Returning back to Arlington Business Park –

Here at the park we have been busy getting site ready as more of our Arlington family return to work here. Our Park Manager, Amy Coles, has worked with our marketing agency to ensure that across the park we have social distancing messaging in place to gently remind us all.

You will see that in each building entrance a hand sanitiser station has been positioned as you walk in, please use this. A notice will update you on what we have been doing such as enhanced cleaning and some of the general rules. For example only 1 person in the lift at anyone time, if using stairs please keep to the left, stand points back from lift doors and of course  floor vinyls reminding you to socially distance. The same consistent messaging continues through to the café and gym. We will update you soon on policies and procedures for these amenities. If you have any questions or concerns at all please contact Amy and she will be able to help and make your transition back to on park working as easy as it can be on amy@arlingtonbusinesspark.co.uk.
